i am 15 and will be driving my 1996 2.2L subaru legacy L and I am looking to get more power from my vehicle. I was just curious as to what low-mid budget upgrades i could perform on my legacy to pull more power out of her?

low to mid:
headers - custom made @ an exhaust shop or there is a guy on rs25.com that sells single port headers
Cams - best bang for your buck
light weight pully set cheap sets on sale on rs25.com
hybrid intake
but the best bet is suspension work put the power you have down correctly and get involved in something like an autocross to learn the real limits of your car without doing something stupid ( your young get used to the generalization ) on people filled streets. ie
outback rear sway
kyb struts
something other than 14" steelies

Thanks, and yea i know what you mean about the generalization. I am aware that im not a pro driver haha. what about the throttle body spacer by group-a? I have heard good things about it. Is it worth the 100$?

pm coming your way...
Light weight flywheel is a good one too, esp. if it happens to be time for a new clutch.
Don't forget staying on top of regular maintenance items also ensures the motor is giving you good performance. Spark plugs, wires, O2 sensors, air and fuel filter.

Driver training - you can take this mod and put it in ANY vehicle.

More power will get you into a proportional amount of trouble. I would say that because you're a pretty young driver, keep the car stock, and learn things about it by doing your own maintenance. Or if you feel like you have to mod it, do suspension first. I wish I would have.
Then when you can afford to do some upgrades major upgrades, you will be able to do them right because you'll have build up some more experience.

I should also add that driver training and some auto-x sessions will give you a better idea of what is actually fast, and what is quick. ;)

what other group of car owners would say to take your car to a autox "race" to learn how to drive better... lol @ the irony

+1 on the maintenance. Don't forget the timing belt.
