Finally ... here it is after 10 hours of labor ... deconstructing and reconstructing the Air Intake System ... Running from O'Rielly, Autozone, Home Depot, Muffler's For Less and Top Speed of Chicago with a budget of $50.

The J-bend was originally on 2.5RS, so all I had to do was shorten the pipe and get some additional pieces.
Even though I burned most of the day fitting it, I had a chance to run it on the E-way.
It performed better than I expected.

so I'm assuming all that wrapping is to insulate the pipe from heat?

whats with all the e-tape? if that even is electrical tape? What did you use to extend the pipe length?

I'm going to have to say it - I know it took you all day to make, but it looks pretty junky.

I know, when the summer comes I will be redoing the wrap.
I took it off my boy, he had it heat wrapped. It is way better than the stock that I had in there.

Oh I didn't extend the pipe, I actually cut it to make it fit. You can see with the pics below

I was going to say it but you did first! You can make that look much cleaner. How does this compare to a normal intake (injen, wepon-r, cobb)?

ill never understand why people put in those type of filters without putting some type of dividing wall between that and the motor so it sucks air from the cooler side of the wall/fender instead of from hot air from the engine bay. just seems a little silly.

spend 10 bucks on some sheet aluminum.

i mean, if your gonna go, ya might as well go balls deep..right?

I don't know about that "heat wrap", it looks like home heating insulation and electrical tape. You can buy a roll of real heatshield tape at autozone now for around 10 bucks.

I am not sure of how different this is, but it replaced the stock.
I am not sure of the performance differences against the other setups, and at the same time it's winter.
When the summer comes I will know how it really performs.

Was the maf adapter a custom fab job? If so, thats pretty cool.

If you are gonna run a SRI you should do a snorkus delete.

imho, you should've went "hybrid" with your intake, you wont have maf issues that way, i am willing to bet you've lost some low end power with that set up.

He still could if he wants. Tuntsfaah, If you are interested check this out:

You could use what you have to make one of these.
