what would that do? lol never thought about it...but i could of swore they quit making the coup in 2000 they started the sedan in 99 didn't they? so they always made the coup 98-01

also on the pick of the engine what is where the factory torque box should be is it an intercooler? it looks weird. or is that just what the phase 2 EJ25's intake looks like?

I was looking at this car yesterday. They did make coupes in 01. That is the factory torque box on the MAP based impreza's. It is a phase II EJ25.

Did you see the STM RS that's for sale in Hugo, MN? It was for sale on autotrader a few days ago but now the ad isn't there anymore.

That's the motor that subaru issued a recall on, not the phase I 2.5's.

All those RS EJ25s are known for head gasket issues. As for the legitimacy of the "coupeness" of it, yes, its real. Impreza coupes have been made since '94 or so up until 2001. The 2.5RS was made from '98 to '01. '98 was offered as a coupe only. It was the 2.5RS sedan that was only offered for the 2000-01 production years. And I didn't look at the motor pic but thats most likely not an intercooler as no 2.5RS was ever turbocharged from the factory. They did have a rather large intake box assembly, but its similar to what came on the Legacy as well.

That's just the airfilter box on an SOHC EJ25. Same as the 00-04 Legacy.

That car is a back to stock special - the rear seats are a mess, but those OZ wheels are pretty nice.
