this guy knows, and told me that they will fit, this guy has an auto parts for subaru in general, but i have to use the upper strut mounts from the legacy,

I've never heard of "$" amount.
Sure. Good deal.

BTW, 2006 WRX struts IIRC require you to lengthen the bolt holes so they match up with the 97 GT hubs... unless the WRX is different to the STi.

Not worth it man.. you will probably ender up spending more money getting everything to work right.

Really! ill talk to this guy, probably he can give me more ideas or sell me another kind

all struts from 93+impreza, 02-07 wrx, 04 sti will work on legacys.... plus some jdm ones i dont know.

but you must use all similar parts (02 struts,02springs,02 tophats) because thats the only way the spring will sit correctly. but this will require you to get a camber kit for both the front and the back.

i believe this works with coilovers as well and since they come with camber plates you dont need to worry about grinding out your knuckle and strut holes to use camber bolts. but in the rear you can use camber bolts, adjustable trailing arms, or camber plates so you are not optionless.

hope this helps

yeah, that what this guy told me, should i buy them for $400?

immortal1kon
01-27-2010, 11:41 PM
hell no wrx sturts go all day for 250-300 max with everything.

jospgut
01-27-2010, 11:48 PM
even with the tein lowering springs?

immortal1kon
01-27-2010, 11:49 PM
if you dont mind spending 600-900 you can pick up a set of coilovers brand new usually ( megan, D2, BC, i think the tein basic dampers, and some ebay ones that people say are good

jospgut
01-27-2010, 11:53 PM
i was thinking to spend between $650, but i found this so i thought getting those but like you told me if i can find coilovers for that range of money it will be alot better

I've paid $80 and most recently $100 for complete sets of wrx springs & struts. Not sure what tein's cost new but... here's a set

$400 is too much for that setup. Especially if they are s-techs. Are they s-techs? Whats the mileage on the struts?

jospgut
01-30-2010, 07:05 PM
they have 500 miles on them..

Lone_legacy
01-30-2010, 08:00 PM
Are they s-techs? (the springs)

jospgut
01-30-2010, 08:06 PM
yeah they are s-tech

Lone_legacy
01-30-2010, 08:26 PM
Those springs are crap. Better off going for prodrive, eibach, H&R, etc.

This is a link to a thread on NASIOC about some of the issues with s-techs:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=1267918 (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1267918)

Anyone else wanna speak up about s-techs?

No prob. For the record I nearly made a similar purchase before I did some research. I got some good advice in this thread:

i talked to this guy, they come with h-tech springs

Lone_legacy
01-31-2010, 12:05 AM
I see. Zac, another SLi member, runs H-techs I think.

jospgut
01-31-2010, 12:50 AM
i told him that, he said ok ill give them to you for $300, i think im gonna try this for now, and then di what you are telling me to do, to go with eibach, H&R or else

Lone_legacy
01-31-2010, 01:19 AM
you told him what? Is this a seller on SLi? I dont understand what you are saying. If they are htechs on virtually brand new struts and tophats, then $300 is not bad. You will need 06 wrx front spring perches and rear camber bolts as well.

jospgut
01-31-2010, 04:37 AM
oh sorry. i told him that about the s-tech. so he lowered the price. no. he is a member of nasioc. but i found this guy on craigslist.. yeah ill try doing that on monday. ill let you know how it worked. thank you for your help

^^ nice. Looks like you dropped 1.25" front and 1" rear.
You could take better pictures though. Don't forget to update your member rides thread.

Looks awesome man. No saggy butt from the wrx setup is rare. That looks like an s-tech drop to me.

jospgut
02-03-2010, 02:31 PM
exactly it dropped 1.25 front and 1 rear, this guy that sold me, told me they are H-tech, he also say that the s-tech are a bad setup like you guys told me. But let see what happend for a couple of months

Huffer

You can take good pics with a cellphone - you just have to compose them better. As in, fill the frame with the car...and the right angle. Right now it looks like you're taking pics of your neighbor's car.

What colour are the springs?

Huffer
02-03-2010, 04:33 PM
TEIN S-tech springs are green. H-techs are goldish.

i just texted this guy, and told me this "the color depends on the country and year of manufacture. The number code on the side of each spring will confirm the type, regardless of color" :s

That seller is full of crap. Sounds like he swindled you. People are trying to offload s-techs left and right.

Car looks good though. Just be careful with those springs, as they are known to blow struts.
