im looking to put wider wheels on my BJ legacy wagon. the ones im looking at are 17x9 +42 and the tires which i already have are 245-40-17. ive got coilovers and a fender roller, any chance that size wheel will fir without looking stupid?

That's going to stick out a bit. Even with all my fender work, a 17x8.5 ET48 with a 245 was buzzing the fenders and kissing the coilover. You'll be sticking out almost a half inch more than this:
