if i put 2.5L cams in my phase II ej22 will it negatively effect anything? ex: mpgs, fuel air ratio, etc.? im just curious as to what bonuses it will give and what possible negatives could result. :?:

What a suprise reason and I were talking about this last night,
the EJ25 cams will give you a nice boost, as a matter of fact i am going to do the same thing to my wife's OBS here soon

i havn't any real specifics, i am going to wager that it'll give about a 10% boost in power less than a real set of delta cams but more than nothing

and do you have a phase 2 in your 96? the phase 2 ej22 didn't come out till 99

The cam swap will result in similar power gains to a 1000 grind in a 2.5. Slightly less due to displacement. No other modifications are required but will produce better results in the end. Intake, exhaust, pulley or LWFW but not both.

We prefer to regrind the 2.2 cams to these profiles rather than lose the 2.5 cams. The cores are hard to come by from time to time. I will grind your 2.2 cams for $82.50/cam.

wouldn't be better to just go to the full blown 1000 grind then?

unless you can find a set local

Would using the SOHC 2.5 cams work in a Phase 1 EJ22?

I have a 2.2 from a 95 wagon (BK) in my BD.
