cosmo short throw

i recently cut my shifter about 2 inches from the top. would getting the one from cosmo make any more of a difference than what i already have?

^ short shifters dont usually rely on just changing the height of the shifter. They will typically change the geometry of the shifter arm so that it requires less throw distance without even shortening up the shifter height.

I love my kartboy so i would say yes. providing the cosmo isnt a piece of junk (cheap ones tend to have issues with snapping of leaving you pretty much screwed..._

Cutting the top of your shifter gave you no improvements, just made shifting harder. Like stat said theres more to it. The pivot ball is at a better angle too. Get a kartboy shifter and call it a day. Me personally is just going to upgrade all the bushings and get a knob that sits lower and I'll be happy.

you can, you just need some washers in between the shifter fork as the BE's is wider by a little bit.

I've had a cosmo short throw for over a year now and I don't have any problems with it. Kartboy's shifter has a better pivot point in my opinion though.
