Hey guys and gals. Had someone tell me this was a good place to get some info about Legacys, and i could definatley use some advice. I am new to Subaru's so i am taking this slowly but surely. This is my current project which is starting to come along better than i though.

Its a 1998 Legacy L that i am currently gathering parts to Boost it. So far i have the main little things, TD04, TMIC, stock uppipe that will be modded. The only thing now is getting into the nitty gritty and actually doing it. lol I am looking for help on a couple things, like o2 sensor placement with the aftermarket downpipe, oil and coolant feed lines, and where to tap in. Just the little stuff. Thanks for looking and any help would be great.

i think you need to do alittle more research before you jumpin to the project. look on rs25.com and theres tons of info on boosting NA cars. also it look like you got a 3rd gen to?

I have been doing alot of research on turboing the the na motor. I currently have a spare motor in my garage that i am using to do all my mock up and making of oil lines and what not. I know there is alot more involved than just slapping a turbo on and going, It takes planning, and thought. And yes that is an 04 that i have also. Its more the wifes car than mine. I was actually trying to find another 3rd gen to mod but they are few and hard to find in good shape around here. Specially when working with my broke ass budget. lol. She wont let me play with it. lol.

Right now with my build i am just getting the turbo mounted up and running lines than moving on from there. I am in no hurry to get this done. I want to this right. As right as you could with a NA motor. I am gonna rebuild the mock up motor once done with that part.

Welcome, we have a turbo forum with info and you can ask someone on here. There are plenty of people on this forum with a turbo build, swap or factory. No need to go to another forum when we can help out..... As for the build, personally I would put new piston rings, metal headgaskets and ARP head studs at minimum.

Welcome along!

Yep, plenty of info on this board - basically you'll be wanting to imitate a stock WRX set up as much as possible - hopefully you got a turbo xmember for the exhaust routing or you're good with a grinder! ;)

Start a Member Rides thread and post pics of the ongoing project!

Welcome fellow ND'er, well I live in Moorhead now but same thing. I also have a 98 turbo, but it's an ej20g. If you ever come up with any questions about boosting the 2.5 you'd be too embarrased to post on a forum just pm, lol.
