Hey everyone,
I am looking to put a different suspension on my 98 Legacy Brighton Wagon. Ive seen some drivers with a forester suspension on a Legacy wagon and thought it looked awesome. I was wondering how big of a job it would be, and what I would have to do.
Thanks

Struts and springs. For better stability use the thicker swaybars from a 96-99 outback and also their control arm bushing brackets - these are thicker and change the suspension geometry to match the higher ride (heard the forester brackets will work too). All of this stuff is bolt on except I don't know if the forester's tophats will fit your car, but you could always reuse yours on the new suspension if they don't.
the brackets in question - the right circle is around the spacers that come on factory lifted cars:

hey tim where about in NJ are ya? and yeah pretty much everything mike said was right. you don't HAVE to get the sway or the lower control arm spacers, but for safety reasons you deff should. just remember the forester's body is lighter then the legacy's so dont expect ur car to gain like 5" or something. after all is said n done your looking at a good 2-3" lift. i was planning on doing the same thing to my car but thats for the summer. i cant have my Daily OOC u kno? anyway browse the forms, ive seen a couple here and on nasioc. look around and im sure you'll find out more then you need to know.

You won't have to deal with the 3cm spacer in the rear - that's a FWD quirk.

Im from the central part of NJ. Mount Holly actually. Sounds like it would be a fun job, but I think Im gonna have to wait till the weather is warmer to try it. Any of you guys know of any good subaru clubs around southern-central NJ?
