they need to be cleaned now. The front is a little higher but it's cool though. My friend pulled them out and put sti seats in his 03 wrx. I paid 150. For all.

There's some on eBay. Sti seats are even higher. My friend put them in his wrx. He said there higher in the wrx. Must be way to high for a legacy.

yeah I know but the sedan seats are more common only thing I could do was buy the fronts and do the rear later..
My drivers seat sucks donkey balls.. an hours worth of driving my back is already hurting.. the foam is like pushing up in the drivers seat where you sit. it's not a huge issue right now but long 8 hour trips would suck.
once my mechanical stuff is done I can finally work on the inside and out

Yeah I hear that! Mine wasn't to great either. The left side of the seat was lower than the right! So happy with the new seats. The guy I got them from bought his wrx new with 30 miles on it and he wieghs about 160lbs soakin wet. So these seats feel like nobody ever sat in them.

wow.. I'm only 130lbs so it's almost like no one is in the seat haha
only bad thing is the wielded bolt for the rear snapped on my drivers seat the last time I had to take them out to take my carpet out.

I think that this is one of the best mods I have done to my car. I have friends comment on how comfy they are all the time.

are you kidding? I can't wait to put my seats in.. I keep sinking in them and I'm not a heavy guy (135 Lb) When i shift I sink in the seat and always pushing myself back up

nobodys commented about how you loose the folding back seat with WRX rears. Older impreza sedans couldn't do this
i'd do the fronts if it didn't make the seat higher (im 6'4 so no real room to play)

Is there a how-to for this? I got a free set of front 2003 Legacy seats for my 97 LGT, but noticed the brackets for the rails aren't exactly the same. The seat seemed to fit nicely, but there were only four fasteners for the 2003 vs 5 for my LGT - I'm sure 4 fasteners is fine. The biggests issue now is that the seats didn't come with the attached seat buckle. The 2003 is a bolted connection while the LGT is stud and nut. If any one could help out with a work around besides finding buckles from a 2003, I'd really appreciate it. Worst case is I'll have to get rid of the seats, which would be a shame...
FWIW, the owner of the 2003 said he had a buddy install bugeye WRX seats in his car with out any issues. So, if the Rex seats fit his 2003 AND my LGT, then his 2003 seats should also easily fit the LGT, right?

yes they will fit in any LGT. you will have to drill out and make a bolt for your seat belt buckles
my 99 i swapped buckles and only could use 4 of the 5 bolts to hold it to the car frame.

What will I be drilling? The buckle bracket doesn't seem to sit flush with the bolt hole on the 2003's frame. It seems like I would have to put a 2-3 washers in there to space/flush things out. What did you end up doing? 4 out of 5 fasteners is ok for the frame?
I was looking for a way to transfer my LGT frame rails to the 2003 seats, but one side seems to be connected completely differently, making it impossible. : /

take a picture of your bracket. and the wrx ones and i'll tell u then, i have a 99 so it was slightly different. since they are studded. you may have to drill out the stud and use spacers for the wrx seats.
yes I only used 4 bolts in my car(4 bolts each seat). i think that will be plenty.

For the 97-99 LGT owners out there, what size bolt did you use for the buckle bracket? Worst case I'll just put a washer in to flush out the buckle bracket and bolt that bad boy on. I could always try to find a 2003 buckle, though I'm not sure if the male end of the 97 LGT belt will fit into the 2003 buckle. Any ideas?

use a washer to make it flush (a locking washer) otherwards it will wiggle lose after a month or so.
as for the bolt brackets. if you can install them without using those extra holes then go for it. if the legacy gt in 03 is safe with 4 bolts holding in the whole seat stock. then do it.

or if you have a junkyard, or place to get them, buy some cheap 02/03 wrx seatbelt buckle things (the part that goes into the buckle) and put em on your seat belt straps

Thanks for the advice. Does any one know he bolt size for the '03 buckle? Otherwise, I'll call the dealer. I would assume they'd know.

First impressions of the "new" 2003 Legacy seats are mixed. : / Around town driving is great, but long-distance driving hurts my back - something I never had an issue with in the OEM seats. The seats seem better-bolstered and absorb more shock than the OEM 97 LGT seats, but they sit higher, which makes them uncomfortable for trips longer than fifteen minutes.
To the OP: how tall are you? I'm 6' even, so maybe some one a little shorter might have better results, assuming the 2003 legacy seats add as much height over stock as your WRX seats.
