View Full Version : wheel bearing rubber thingy? help asap!!!

when am i supposed to take out the snap ring? im trying to do the wheel bearings and i dont now wat to do with the ring, im going off this site http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=787070 and im not sure when im supposed to put it in or if im even supposed to take it out and do i have to have a snap ring removal tool or can i use needle nose pliers or something thank you

ok i got the tool to remove it now am i suppsoed to remove it? when do i put it in before or after i put the new bearings back in?

You have to remove it to let the bearings get pressed out. Then after you press the new ones in, replace the snap ring.

is the rubber thing inside the wheel bearing supposed to get pushed out when you push the hub in? mine is im not sure if it issuposed to so i stoped right away please help

yes the rubber "thing" hold the bearings together in packaging and handling so the two taper bearings dont fall out. until the hub gets pressed in.
