So often time you ask yourself how much power can a 5sp BD tranny take? Answer soon to come, haha. On a serious note, I don't have access at work to sl-i so i have been mia.

Well I picked up a ej255 block today with a blow piston and going for the hybrid build. Going FMIC with a rotated intake manifold. Should be a scooter, however I am going to keep the E316g for a bit and eventually got GREEN :). However, first things first, need to get the block together. Here are my thoughts.

I haven't dug into the block so I'm not 100% on the cylinder walls and overall condition of anything with it, just have it sitting in my trunk.

I am thinking of 100mm Wiseco pistons, eagle rods, acl bearings, ARP head studs, then getting my heads check out and making sure the valve seats are good. (I'm having a misfire issue right now). The ej205 is still trucking along, however when I go to put the new block in I am going to go ahead and put a new disk in for my clutch, and just carry one with the 900lb stock flywheel. Really, I think, the heavy flywheel is what is saving my trans right now. I'm frankly not happy with any subie tranny, so I'm not going to just buy something and chuck it in. The 5spd lgt trannies go for ~$400 so if I blow this one, so be it.

I'm thinking mfactory gear set, but I face the money issue. So thoughts opinions? I'm ?ing the wiseco's over the cp's, but the cp's have a short skirt and I don't like that.

Haven't heard any bad things about Wisecos. CP's are polarizing. Some of the guys I know swear by them as bombproof, others say they use oil and are noisy. Sounds like a fun build for sure.

It should be a good build, and once the block is built it's going in. The fmic kit I want is 300 shipped so should be a budget build.
