Anyone ever moved teh HVAC controls down to the DIN pocket with teh radio?

Planning on trying this and putting my gauges where the HVAC is factory.

Like my BD you mean? One other person has done this, but I don't remember who.

It's fairly easy, but you have to do A LOT of cutting inside the dash.

awesome, exactly what Im doing. How did you attach the HVAC to the car? I assume the factory HVAC cable works fine still? (im already putting mine in as we speak, but above the radio.

I was half way done when I decided to put it all back to stock. I had to buy another HVAC control because I cut off the mounting tabs. Whenever I get a second car I will remove the controls permanently, like I did in my CRX. This car won't be a DD at that point.

all done.

Basically, I cut the mounting tabs off and left the HVAC alone.

Then I trimmed the Radio Trim piece to fit the HVAC.

And I used the factory metal radio brackets cut in kind of a "stair step" to fully support the rear of the HVAC. I also cut a slot for the cable.

Sorry I didnt take any pics tho! (stupid me) Now I am gonna make a mount for the gauges from a piece of ABS plastic. Sweet!!!

Hey Brockley, how well does your head unit flip down? I'm in the process of doing this to my ride and the head unit kind of sticks and rubs on the bottom when I drop it down to get a CD. It looks super clean the way you did it. I'll get pics of mine if I can (no camera).
