Been a long time admirer of Subaru's, but never actually owned one. I'm actually here because I was able to pick up an EJ22 for $80, and I'm looking to do an engine rebuild with a friend of mine. I couldn't believe you could get one that cheap, even if it turns out to be total junk We both like taking things apart, but this is kinda uncharted territory for us as neither of us have completely torn a motor apart before. It was a complete impulse buy...I'm a die-hard BMW guy, and he's a die hard American muscle car guy, but engines are engines. Thus far, I've been impressed by the compact design, and the simplicity.

So, basically, I'm here for the reading and the learning, and really looking forward to it.

Welcome! You should find a little Mini or go-kart to drop that EJ22 into once it's rebuilt... :D

Sweet!!! I'm 98 percent sure you are the guy I sold the engine too. That's awesome that you guys found the site. Keep us updated on that engine; I'm curious about it's condition...
