My cruise control went out on me a few months ago and since then I've tried everything I could think of with fuses and looking for bad wires. This is a 97 legacy, the switch does light up when pressed, all fuses are good and everything else elcetrical is working. Speedometer and tach work fine as well. Where should I look next?

I know that my switch in the steering wheel wasn't always working,
then I swapped steering wheels, and the new switch now works every time.

90% of the time it is the brake switch or the clutch swithc if so equipped. It usually needs replacing or adjusting.

mine acts up every now and again and I think it is the switch on the steering wheel. I just keep hitting set and eventually it goes, and Phil mentioned the same thing, so maybe it is fairly common to have problems with the switches. I would start there.

My switch sometimes acts up when its cold, like the grease in the switch is hard and doesnt let the switch move quickly. I have always noticed that cold = me having to push really hard to activate it whereas when its warm it always works right away.
