Hey guys,

Proud owner of a 1994 AUS delivered Liberty RS Turbo wagon

Was stock at 11 psi boost and 148 kW (200 hp) at the fly.

Now produces a reliable (est) 160 kW ATW.

Just about to fit the old girl up with some Prodrive cams (ex New Zealand Legacy rally car), and sort out an under manifold intake using a straight entry TD 05H

Wanting to push 180 kW ATW using the water-to-air- stock intercooler.

V1 STI RA ecu too!

So now I've seen 1994 Legacys with the 1st gen and 2nd gen body styles from Australia. Wierd. Anyways, nice car. Is yours called a 'Touring Wagon' like what we have in the States? We only got those with automatic transmissions. :-(

Nope there's no "Touring" in our model line-up
and the "Legacy" was sold in our country as a "Liberty"
The name change was out of respect for our "Legacy Foundation" who supports soldiers and their families who have returned from war (Particluarly WW1 and WW2)

the turbo variant only came out as the "RS Turbo" in both sedan and wagon body-shapes
and apparently there were only 100 RS Turbo Wagons brought into the country.
And all RS Turbo's were Manual-Transmission only.

The Liberty RS Turbo was only available in the Gen1 Series2 (as depicted above)
All Gen1 Series1 and Gen2 Turbo's were imported direct from Japan through importing schemes or private imports

Thanks for the info. The "touring wagon" badge never appeared on our cars (AFAIK) but was in the Subaru brochures at the time.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I'll post it up in Members Rides so you can see exactly what has been done to it.

Its also worthwhile noting some differences with the Australian delivered variant.

All wagons had the stepped roof
RS Turbos had cloth, not velour seats
RS Turbos had a/c, not climate control
RS Turbos all had rear VLSDs

Other minor differences include:

No remote central locking on RSs
No delay setting on rear window wiper
No electric drivers seat
No sporty steering system
ABS was optional, but most RSs have it.
