Hey guys for those who knew Jeff's (JLav21's) 2003 Legacy, but I didnt get it with the enkeis. So as spring may not be that far off Ive been shopping around for wheels. Im pretty sure im gonna pick up the rota grids (knock off te-37's) since I dont have the money for the real deal currently. But my dilemma is which color to choose, its between gold or sport bronze.

Im a bit partial to the bronze because when I owned my mr2 I had a genuine set of bronze te-37's on it :P

Heres a shot of the car that Ive stolen from Jeff before purchase:

And here are the colors:

Gold:

Sport Bronze:

And if any one would want to photoshop them onto the car I wouldnt mind either.....lol

Oh and if any one could fill me in about rims on BE's and the use of hubcentric rings (am I going to need them) would be great too.

Thanks all

i think the sport bronz would look better in a larger wheel like a 17", but if your keeping the same size as the ones that are on there i would say the gold. ether way it will look good

i bet tires for 18"s arent cheep. our honda accord has 17"s and tires for that get pretty spendy.

I love the grids in bronze. Bronze will contrast nice, yet it will be understated. Sometimes I find gold is a little bit too "look at me I have a subaru with gold wheels."

I sort of like the bronze they look nice maybe a gunmetal grey aswell? i would flip threw the reader rides(pics)for you year and model and see some examples from the other guys.
also maybe read up on the fitment issues for 18" rims threads. from what i have sort of gathered it looked some tire/rim combinations in the 18" range call for fender rolling and maybe problems with strut rubbing, or atleast rubbing on turns and bumps.
another thing i had read was comments about the 18" being nice for bling factor and handling like if you race but for a daily driver that prehaps a 17" will give you more tire room for smoother, more confortable ride just an idea. i over analyze most things but hate to make mistakes if some one has had same situation already.

He said towards the top that he plans on running 17x7.5".

B's Legacy Wagon basiclly all the points that you covered there were what has made me weary of the idea of 18's. And ive put plenty of time in lurking around the members ride section trying to get an idea :P but thanks for the input

To answer your question about the hubcentric rings, all they do is make the wheels easier to install because it automatically centers the wheels on the hub. You can do the same thing with taper seat lugnuts (which most aftermarket wheels use anyway). Just hand tighten 2 of the lug nuts first and that will center the wheel, then install and torque down the rest.

I'd go for the bronze wheels. You are probably better off not getting the enkeis because the rpf1s are getting really played out. Then again, so are te-37s but at least they are better looking :) But the bronze is a better contrast to the silver than gold.

Thanks for the info.

And with the influx of cheap wheels these days it getting harder and harder to fin designs that aren't over used or played out imo

I had gold wheels on the car a few years ago - 5-spokes off of the '98 Impreza RS. I love gold, but it didn't look that great on silver. Bronze is a happy medium, IMO.

Get Bronze. Gold on a silver car looks silly, especially the rota gold. If it was BBS gold, things would be different.
