I'll have my intake manifold off this weekend to PnP it but I also want to clean my injectors and fuel rail cause I recently had bad gas.

How can I do this while I have it all appart?

so was the bad gas the explanation of this crazy misfire stuff?

to remove your injectors

relieve pressure on the fue system or gas may spray everywhere. i usually just remove a line from the filter, and it sprays a bit.

there will be two phillips(i think) screws on each little metal "hat" the injectors are under. remove those two screws and pull injector out. clean with screens with seafoam or something, check O-ring condition, re install. when you re install them make sure to use WD40, ATF, astroglide, or some kind of lube to keep the O-rings from pinching or tearing.

but the little hats back on and tighten the screws.

if it were my car i would not remove the fuel rails, as you would have to have some serious junk in there to gunk them up.
i would just remove and clean the injectors, maybe squirt some seafoam into the rails.

and clean all the rubber lines.

good luck

I know how to remove them but how exactly do I clean them?

soak them in seafoam or similer, blow out with some(not high psi) air. i mean you will be able to see if the screens are gunked up.

if you REALLY want to give them a good cleaning, go to the junk yard and get an extra injector connector, run some wires to it, submerge each injector in seafoam and run the connector to 12V and a switch or something, activate and de activate the injector several times to open and close the pintle.

and clean all the rubber lines.

If you're going through the trouble to remove them all just replace them. They're cheap and I've had them fail before on a 10-year-old car, they do wear out over time.

upon inspecting today all the lines are fine. no rips or tears.

Now to clean it all.

I was not able to remove the injectors from the rails itself, how do I take them out?

hmm they are pretty tight in there.

Do I need to replace the main o-rings? Like those big black ones that are in the intake manifold.

if they are not damaged you do not need to replace them.

i dont know what main Orings your talking about...there are two on/around the injector. a big one at the top, and a small one at the bottom.

make sure the smaller bottom one doesnt leak or it will leak fuel into the intake manifold.
