View Full Version : my damn alarm

i have a car that drives down my street with a fart cannon (muffler) and it keeps setting off my alarm (makes it start chirping) whenever they drive by. what do you guys think i should do, aside from vandalism? they just drove by and i am gonna see who it is.

turn down the sensitivity on your alarm. my integra will do the same thing depending on the kind of car that goes by it....

i have no clue how to do that. the dealer told me that it is a OE subaru alarm, not from the factory, and i have lost the little booklets with the info on the alarm. oh well i guess if the alarm starts blaring i will get up, but not for it chirping.

i would call the police or take him to judge joe brown, and sue him for ruining your car alarm and pain and suffering.
or get an even louder muffler and do it to him. or rig up your car alarm to be so loud that he wont do it anymore. or, all of the above

its funny you should say that cuz i was watching judge judy last week and some kid was suing a old guy for assault and the old guy was counter suing because the kids muffler was so loud it would set of his car alarm and judge judy ruled in favor of the old guy because of the muffler.. even tho the old guy beat him up. lol then she called him an "disgusting young man" and a "punk" lol

so i was watching legal drag racing at Portland International Raceway today and my alarm kept churping and finally started blaring.
it was caused by the muscle cars turned drag racers would drive by my car and finally it went off.
so after it doing that 2x and not wanting to move my car i left, (also ADD doesn't help. :grin: ) so i cannot find where the shock sensor is, is there a way to deactivate the alarm, not put it into vallet mode i am talking about pulling a wiring harness.
but i also want to be able to be able to keep the alarm for when i go to see family and friends out of state/ or farther that a 2 hour drive.
any ideas?
i dont want to have to deal with having to have AAA come to my house to tow it it my mechanic because i did something wrong and the car wont start.
it is going in to the shop for a wheel bearing in two weeks, i might have my mechanic see if he can turn down the shock sensor.

I JUST got a new alarm for my car. My control unit thinger is under the dash right above my feet. Maybe try looking there? All the wires go through there so I think it could be a good location to check out.
My alarm and 2 other cars next to it started going off after a HUGE boom to thunder! Literally shook the apartment. I turned down the sensitivity a little, just a screw on the side of the unit...
