Why do you want helper springs?

Then put stock suspension back on there. It's less work that putting helper springs on and will actually do something.

A helper spring like that is really only going to keep the spring seated when driving hard and if load on the corner is enough to unload the main spring.

So the helper springs like what you mentioned would just be compressed all the time and do nothing for ride comfort.

from JIC website. about helper springs. i dont think you get what they are ment for.

"These high quality helper spring kits for your JIC Coilovers will allow your vehicle to have more of a progressive spring feel to the suspension and to allow your suspension to give more rebound and bump stroke. Ideal for vehicles that are equipped with high spring rates that want to occasionally drive on the street with a comfortable feel."

Like I said, it would be easier to swap in your stock suspension.

That stuff on the JIC website is crap. You can't get more rebound and bump travel from doing the same thing. It also doesn't really give a progressive feel, but it is a dual rate feel if they're sized correctly.

Putting 2 springs in series will give you a softer spring rate than the softer spring until that spring becomes a stack. So if you were to put a 100lb/in spring (a little under 2kg/mm) that is 4" long, it would be fully compressed before you finished putting the car back on the ground. So it would be of no use other than what I said in my previous post.

So you could mess with it and find a spring that will work, but you will probably have to buy new main springs since they'll most likely be too long to fit the correct sized second spring in place.

So like I said, it's easier to swap back stock suspension. Or just tell your family to deal with it.

I would probably just swap back too. 3 years of someone else driving your car and all that wear on your brand new coilovers. When you get back it will be almost time for a new set up. Put the JIC's in storage till you get back.

The helper springs might help soften things up slightly when the suspension is compressing after drooping out (say, after driving over a large dip or pothole or something) but I really doubt it is going to have the kind of effect you are hoping for. Consider how much the stock suspension compresses from full droop before it gets to ride height. And that is with some preload on the springs already, and a higher spring rate than the helper springs would be.
