ugh header leak

interesting.. I had a leak getting louder and louder and hard to pinpoint without a helper.. anyways long story short 1 header stud and all 3 nuts on the drivers side header came off... Like they just backed right off..


So went to the dealer to ask how much 3 nuts and one stud cost and it's almost friken $20 bux lol...

I'm guessing with the header like that the gasket needs to be replaced as well?

better to change it while its out. and i would just get the stud and nuts from a junk yard.

You don't need to but better to do it and not worry about it. I always suggest after you do an install like this yourself its always a good idea to come back after some miles and re tighten things up. I had parts of my exhaust come loose and I cranked down on shit too. Almost all my drivetrain bushings are urethane so the car vibrates like a bitch so things are bound to come loose if not cranked down hard enough.

this is going to sound stupid but how can I screw the stud in? at least to make sure it's tight?

Because the one that fell out is the one on the passenger side rear part of the head so it's the closest to the frame of the car which makes it a little tight.

My vicegrips seemed to have walked off yet again.

I gotta take everything off anyways as the gasket was gone. Not fun because I had planned to do the exhaust 3rd week of April.

^ You could use 2 nuts and then tighten it in using the bottom nut..
