Looking to put Outback struts into my 97 Legacy L wagon. Just wondering if this will work with my L springs. Will the L springs work on the Outback strut?

They will fit if they're from the same generation, yes, but your springs will put additional strain on the struts since they ride lower. How long will they last that way? Who knows, maybe a long time.

Interesting---I may have to keep an eye out for some Outback springs. Thanks.

Ok, I am trying to decide on what to do with my wagon...raise or lower

I figured that 2000-2004 OB struts and springs would fit on my 2000 L.

What I am wondering is whether I'd have to do anything else to the cr to make the OB spring/strut combo work properly.

Will using only this spring/strut combo raise my car?

How much?

Will I notice irrepairable + camber from using this combination?

Will there be added wear-and-tear on driveline components through the use of this combination?

Any input would be greatly appreciated...

Oh yeah, one more question...does anyone know if OB springs are stiffer than L springs?

I've been searching for answers on this but haven't found any information that actually answers the ?'s.

I know for sure the struts are stiffer and taller, and im 99% sure the springs are stiffer considering if the struts are stiffer it would make sense to have stiffer springs as well. and for my 97 legacy L wagon OB struts were a direct, pretty easy bolt in. about 1.5" lift. I havent put the struts and springs on my front end yet so i have this killer rake haha but i got my struts from a salvage yard for only 35$ a piece with something like 30k miles on them.
