i just sold that car. its a 97, with 143k miles. and issues.

i can tell its mine cause of the peeling paint on the front bumper(hard to see), the big patch of goo from the removed bumpersticker on the back bumber, and the bent "raked" antenna.

even still has the dirt marks on it from when i sold it.

any way to report scams like this?

how would someone even roll back the miles? replace the cluster?

get people to spam it, and put up a posting warning on CL for other people looking at the car.

They are exempt after 10 years, at least here in Washington... I dont thin they will care...

Thats really cheap BTW... What was wrong with it?

the only thing that throws me off is if the dude is trying to rip someone off, why not go for more money? im sure the car could get 2400, as is. and lower the miles to like 80k? and to hide the year? thats pretty ballsy and its gotta be hard to fool someone on that..
i wonder if they just used the pics of your car but they are really selling a different car. or swapped the vin with that of one that they wrecked or something...
there is definitely more than meets the eye here.

Thats really cheap BTW... What was wrong with it?

when i sold it, it had several CEL codes, knocked, misfired on two cylinders, no thermostat, and took about 2 seconds to go from 1st to 2nd unless you were stomping on the gas.

maybe he fixed all that in the day hes owned it....and went back in time to change the model year, and mileage.

CD player doesnt work also BTW.

as for the mileage it is exempt. but it is illegal to manipulate the mileage for the purposes of selling, no matter the mileage. and sence he was in there, i almost bet he removed the CEL as well.

i did post an add saying it was a scam, but its been flagged.

he is going to have a hard time selling it, unless the person is a total tool, the motor is rough....it doesnt drive right.

i did beat the crap out of it for a bit on some 4X4 trails around here before i sold it. its still dirty in the pictures.

Sounds like it needs a motor! With all that, it's like a $1500 car, expeshaly if you beat the crap out of it already...

maybe the guy is just an ass wipe trying to resell the car for 800 bucks profit. lying about everything. if your going to flip a car you should at least do something to it..

well, the ads are gone. so i assume someone bought it.

someone got screwed sans lube.

but on the other hand. buyer beware. i mean if you saw a subaru outback advertized with 113k in good shape runs and rives well for $2400, wouldnt your first thought be "WTF is wrong with it"

if not, it should be.

without proper knowledge of whats wrong with that car and the issues it has it will not last a week.
