hey guys, ive got a lead on a complete, "good" shape 1993 legacy sedan, runs and drives, AC works, sunroof, cloth interior etc. he says everything is intact, just parked for a while

i dont know mileage.

i am going to check it out on monday.

only issue is it had an out of state title that no one can find, and some other semi-shady BS

if its in decent shape, is it worth 600 bucks?

thoughts? opinions?

possibilities are to part it, or redneck lift it and make a mudder.

EDIT: i asked if it was AWD and he said he "didnt think so, because there were no AWD badges" did they make these FWD?

EDITx2: the wiki article says they did made FWD models, if its not AWD it will have to be in extremely good shape if im going to pick it up.

I think as a parts car it would probably be good investment. i just got ride of my old 93 escort bought the thing 2 years ago for 500 bucks and just sold it on craigs list for 600. i had so many e-mail's from part & scrap yards, 1 guy came and paid cash first day. he said they are hurting for used cars from the cash for clunkers bit into there ability to get these old cars for parts and they snapped it up.So i would think if there is no shadyness on the title. just hate to deal with registration issues for no title. not sure if you could post in the older generation forums about if there is a need for parts or if that would sort of be double posting? might thought was you may make your money back and some extra just for the parts.

not worth as parts car, if FWD. or awd with rear drums. imo. you should check with the dmv/rmv to make sure the car isnt stolen. and get a bill of sale with the sellers personal info. to make sure they dont report it stolen and you get screwed. there a lot of people up here that try scam people w/ no title cars and report it stolen after its sold

what would you do with a 92 parts car? I'd say, unless you own a 90-94 and the body was good, it may be worth it. $600 for just good panels and doors alone would make it worth it. In a drive train sense, certainly not.

well, the car was not in the condition described. lots of rust on the bottom of every panel, it did run, kind of, lots of blue smoke.

certianly not worth it.

thanks for the thoughts.
