Well this issue isnt relatively new on this forum but what I noticed is. The shutter / hesitation problem that iv been having... I notice it happens EVERY time I whip a corner or sharp turn. Any ideas? Or maybe my car is the new christine.

are you low on gas when you whip these corners or take sharp turns?
notice it on right turns more then left?
this happened in my old 96 L, under 1/4 tank when taking hard right turns, the car would get fuel starved.
worst case scenario torque bind

Plenty of gas. sounds logical. though it occurs turning or not. but more soo during sharp cornering.

ej25 or ej22?
auto or manual transmission?
notice it more around any certain RPM?
give some more info about your problem and more people might chime in.

EJ25D. Motor came out of a 98 outback. My 97 LSI was an auto. Put that 98 EJ25 in it along with a 2.2 manual trans. From a dead stop all the way through first gear it will shutter/hesitate. Let off the gas when it happens and then hit it again, the problem is gone. Some times it happens in all but fifth gear. Say I go up a hill or not and im in third. Ill snap the gas, drop to second, and accelerate. The second I hit that pedal the shutter occurs. I pulled codes for knock sensor, first o2, and evap flow. I was told evap only opens up sometimes. The knock sensor could be any thing. o2 I have no clue what that could be because that's a whole other diagnosis on the vehicle. Fun time with emissions. I HAVE asked could it be evap setting off my o2? BUUUT...thats only open some times sooo yeah. Enlighten me with some smarts guys because this subie owner has only owned his subie no more than a year and im slowly fingering this car out.

If you have a lot of codes you should check your grounding situation. check all of the ground straps for voltage drops. Voltage drops can cause a lot of false CELs and symptoms. From there correct the easy ones that generally have only one solution, like the O2 sensor. Heck, the O2 sensor could cause an overly rich condition that can cause stalling. Each sensor is $100+ so diagnosis is important. Don't use aftermarket parts from the big box part stores (See my post about my 2.2L). Download the service manuals on this forum and diagnose the problems with the same accuracy of a factory technician.

i'm gonna do that but i know for a fact that the o2 sensor isnt bad because i never had a cel with the 2.2 that was in it.

I would suggest putting the ej25d ecu in since the ej22 ecu is running the higher displacement motor richer than it needs to be. What is your gas mileage I bet it is lower than average

Put a 2.5 computer in it when I did the swap. But yeah gas mileage is terrible. i wld say about 16mpg on a good day.

another thing i didn't mention was that the exhaust smells like raw fuel under operating temps.
