So if I'm doing say 50mph, and I accelerate(by the way I have AT) I can feel the rear wheels kick in. It doesn't feel like it should be as rough in the transition( i mean that I can really feel it) Is this a normal AT problem? Is this related to the differential?

If you are accelerating WOT? (Wide Open Throttle)
Then you *might* feel the rear wheels have more torque than normal...can't say that I've felt anything that specific (also have AT).
On hard accel, from a standstill, virtually every car "squats" toward the rear, as energy is converted and shifted.

I feel a bit of a 'kick' when it shifts out of 1st. Im not sure what it is but I imagine when youre on dry pavement youre not going to feel the rear wheels engage. Theyre clutch plates and fluid, so its pretty smooth instead of a set of gears chomping into each other.

if you're getting wheel slip at 50mph... yikes. The AT reacts to slip.
I bet you're feeling something else.
