weird cel

so i occasionally have this cel pop up when I'm on the interstate. it reads P1443 *EVAP Control System Vent Control Function Problem. anyone have any idea on what the hell that is and how to fix it? this is the only thing that has stumped me on this legacy. It is very irritating...Any help is appreciated

The EVAP system traps vapors from your gas tank and sucks them into the motor to be burned instead of releasing them to the environment - it's an emissions control device. Occasionally when you are driving at a constant speed the solenoid will open up and perform this function. You could have a simple problem where one of the hoses or wires to the solenoid are not connected properly, or the solenoid itself could be malfunctioning. EVAP codes also come up if your gas cap is not attached properly or is not sealing properly - I'd check that first.
