New hood questions

So I need a new hood after being hit the other day, courtesy of the other guy, and was wondering...

Can I ask the shop to order a Baja Turbo hood instead of a BE hood to replace mine? I looked up prices on a few sites and it's actually showing that the turbo hood would cost $369.95 MSRP while mine the BE hood costs $379.96 MSRP. Their insurance would be saving money according to this.

I know it's very bureaucratic and you can't just swap things in and out when dealing with insurance companies but I was looking for everyone's thoughts on this.

Yes, you can. I have done things like that before. But it helps if the insurance company just writes a check for the hood, then you tell the shop you found a different one you want instead. Or you ask to buy the hood yourself and then you take the check the insurance company wrote for the new hood. Theres a few ways to do it. But just call the body shop. It helps if you know the body shop owner, which was the case for me.
