Ok so I am going to be turboing my ej22 in the near future. I have a full kit with everything including injectors. My question is, I am I able to get my factory ecu rechipped and tuned or do I have to do something else? Might be a newbie question but this is my first subie.

what year/model is the ej22 in?

most likely you'll need a piggy back of some kind like the PP6

What is a "full kit?" Are you building this motor for boost? Boost will necessitate some sort of EMS.

The kit includes the following:
turbo(duh)
all piping
tmic
bov
injectors
manifold
install hardware
turbo timer(included for free)

It came off a 2.2 impreza so I know it will fit/work. As far as building the motor for boost, I am not going to be running much boost. Probably like 6 or 7 psi. As I said, I am new to subies. My past experience has been with Hondas and you can just "chip" the ecu. What is a effective EMS that won't break the bank?

none that i know of unless ~400 doesn't break your bank

I believe it was on a 98. I will double check. $400 doesn't break the back, just wasn't trying to spend $1000+ :)

*just found out, off a 98 impreza*

No such option available for the older Legacies, there just weren't as many people modding them as Hondas so nobody developed it. You'll have to either go standalone or piggyback like everyone has said.

Yeah, figured that would just be too easy. Megasquirt it is I guess.
