I find a smoking deal on a spec b Trans. Read around and asked ?,s it is 4.11 final drive so I am good there. Same style clutch, but I'm going to upgrade. Then i'll need axel stubs.

However how would I get the speedo to work? Rumored it runs off the Abs sensors.

i would look into it a little more before you buy....

Should have mentioned 06 spec b so 5spd and no need to bellhousing swap.

whats the point then?

the bell housing swap is so you can use a VSS, not cause its a 6 speed. you also need to put in a differant front diff so you can use a VSS from what i understand....

The point is the Trans is stronger, however looks like again I'm not going to through with this swap. I'm never happy with many Trans swap idea.

May just go ppg

not sure where you came up with the idea of it being stronger, pretty much all subaru 5 speeds are equally weak, except maybe the RA gear sets which are only marginally stronger... still have nothing on a PPG or 6 speed though.

Thought the SpecB had the STI 6-speed?

^ 2007+ Spec Bs have a 6 speed similar to the sti, but its not the same, longer 5-6 as well as the mentioned lack of a VSS

The gears are physically larger on the lgt 5spds plus people have been able to put over 500hp through them. I'm on my 2nd stock Trans and haven't offically blow either from my ej205's power. Stock went out cause of straight syncromesh and a bearing went, this one isn't blow, just not perfect Lol.

I don't think I'd ever fully use what the ppg is capable, and may just go ra idk yet.

Just found a spec b Trans for 1000 and wanted to try and make it work. :/
