Slight hesitation during accelerator.. very intermittent

So I have this problem where my car will hesitate during acceleration. I don't notice it at highway speeds when accelerating, I notice it when I'm first starting to move.. I'll press the gas, the car bogs a little and then takes off.. like a fuel or electrical delivery problem.

It will also hesitate while cruising at highway speeds.. you'll feel the car jerk just a TINY bit.. not as smooth as it used to be.

I thought it was plugs/wires so I changed those and same problem.. it doesn't happen all the time, but I notice it's happening more often now. I haven't changed the fuel filter for like 10 months? Could it be that? Maybe o2 senors?

There's 270,000km on the car, original o2 sensors still!

I have the same issue. I have a code for the o2. before I put a different motor in my car i never had ANY codes at all. I changed my fuel filter. I thought what you did "could it be the filter"? nope, the new filter didn't help at all. I ran fuel treatments. Still no help. but on this same topic that i posted "black sunshine" said this -->"If you have a lot of codes you should check your grounding situation. check all of the ground straps for voltage drops. Voltage drops can cause a lot of false CELs and symptoms. From there correct the easy ones that generally have only one solution, like the O2 sensor. Heck, the O2 sensor could cause an overly rich condition that can cause stalling. Each sensor is $100+ so diagnosis is important. Don't use aftermarket parts from the big box part stores. Download the service manuals on this forum and diagnose the problems with the same accuracy of a factory technician".

I don't have any CELs though.. and this just started happening last week.

Once the weather gets nicer, I'll do the grounding mod that I've been meaning to do for some time now and see how that pans out.

Based on your info, it could be a one of many potential issues. It could be the coil, the MAF, clogged fuel filter, EGR, or a few others.

The real key is the start eliminating potential faults. Make sure the car is tuned up properly first. You said you have new plugs and wires. Are the plugs gapped properly? Are the wires all properly attached and seated?

How is the grounding? If the computer is not grounded properly, it could lead to some issues.

You might also try finding a good mechanic who can accurately diagnose these issues. It might cost, but it will save you a lot of headache down the road.

thank you for the reply. i read some tips in this website. i reseted my ECU as to removing the negative on the battery for 10mins. after that everything went back to normal. i so love this website. FTW!!!
