Well, after lots of thought and debate about what to do with the car as far as engines go, I think this would be the best all around, (almost) trouble free swap. I have looked at the swap info for the EJ25's to the EJ22's, but that was all from MAF to a MAF car. I have a '99 BK 30th Ann. edition. It is the California model, with the Phase 2 EJ22(MAP sensored, and single port head). It is a 5MT as well. Here is the first question:

How close to plug and play could a EJ25D (MAF) be with an Phase 2 EJ22 (MAP) harness?.....(Which ECU to run?....) I think I already know the answer, but I thought I would ask.

I also know that they switched to an 8 bolt, 2 stud mount to the trans for this year as well. What model year/phase EJ25's would bolt up?.... I have a feeling this might be just a massive amount of work for only 25hp differance.... That being said, I have the option to rebuild my EJ22. Does anyone know if Delta Cams has a regrind option for the phase 2 EJ22. I will PM the guy here that works there in a little bit. Cams and a little fluff work here and there might get me a little more out of the ol' 2.2. Haha thanks for the help.

pritty sure that the 1999 ecu would not know what to do with the maf sensor since its a 4 wire plug and map is only 2 wires...

which means that you would have to swap the ecu over as well and rewire some things.

if i still had my 2.2 heads, i would rebuild them and stick them on a 2.5 block all while keeping my stock ecu... Frankenstein motor!

i would imagine that a MAP 2.5 would be the most logical swap...

and as i said earlier today, it wont matter if the tranny/engine connection used more bolts. you only need (bottom studs and upper bolts)

dont know how people dont get this yet but ANY EJ EG EZ engine will bolt up to ANY EJ tranny
