I'm trying to mount my box in my trunk, but, I don't know how deep the gas tank is, so I'm afraid of drilling too deep. What do I need to know about drilling into my frame so I don't hit my tank?

I actually haven't mounted mine down at all. I have taken some pretty good corners and the box still hasn't slid around. Maybe i am just lucky  But if you want to mount it, just make a small test hole where you want to, and just barely break the surface. Than use something to poke through the hole and see how much clearance you have. And if there is enough room, just use a really short screw.

I used velcro on the bottom so that it would stay close to the rear seat back.

i used steel cables anchored to the sub box and around the bar that the seats fold down on, and then two wood blocks on each side to keep it from sliding side to side doesn't move an inch even during autocross pics tomorrow if i remimber

You should always anchor down your sub box securely because if you get into an accident, an unsecured sub box will turn into a projectile.

If you didn't do it yet, use 3/4" self tappers over the tank and youll be fine. I have several mounting spots in my car, checked all after drilling without the carpet in, all of them clear. Hope it helps =)

My box never slid anywhere. I took some really sharp turns fast and the box itself stayed. My problem was the trunk carpet moved around. So I guess my box did slide, but only because the carpet did. So I got 4 L brackets, lined everything up and screwed them into the wood panel covering the spare tire. My box now sits within the brackets and hasnt moved since

who needs to fasten things down? I used Velcro on my old box and it worked well. Right now my box takes up almost all of my trunk, so I didnt fasten it down! haha
