I had fun on my Yokohama ES100s...decent grip and all, but they only lasted me about a year (aggressive driving and a couple auto-xs).

To ask for a performance tire recommendation is pretty vague though. What are you going to be using the tire for? Does treadwear matter? Will you be auto-xing on the tires? Most summer performance tires handle well in both wet and dry conditions, so it's a tossup from there.

You can't really get "all season" performance - they're usually better at one thing than the other they claim to be.

Summer: If I had the coin, I would get Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's. Amazingly good grip, very streetable, very little tramlining and fantastic in the wet.

Winter (Snow): Nokian WR

Winter (Slush): Falken ZIEX or Hankook Icebear - I don't need anything truly aggressive in winter, because I don't like to travel fast when everyone else is sliding around.

Winter (Rain): Same as summer. ;)

i want a tire that i can be aggressive with and really let the AWD shine. i wont be doing much if any auto x's but i want something that can take corners fast as possible. but i dont want to have to shell out another grand for rubber in 12 months. and yes i am looking for an all season tire set and another set for going up to the mountain.

Listen. if you want to drive aggressive you are going to have to dish the cash. If you can't afford to drive like an ass maybe you should take the bus. Good tires and suspension will help you
take corners fast as possible. And like someone said, $1000 for the suspension setup.

What you want is impossible.
You can't get an all-season that will give you hi performance summer-tire/wet weather grip AND useful performance in the snow.

Why bother with an all-season, when you will be using another set for snowfun in the hills? Makes no sense.

If you drive like you stole it, then you will have to fork out for new tires quite often.

Well you won't be able to find an all-season tire that will allow you to take corners "as fast as possible". If you want to go "as fast as possible" then you get race tires, or some good summer tires. Depending on what you already have, though, a nice set of performance all-seasons may make you very happy.

I would suggest the Continental ContiExtremeContacts - if you don't drive like a complete dufus you can get 20-30k miles out of them I'm sure, and they're a lot better than any other all-seasons I've used in the rain. I haven't tried them in the snow but I'm planning on getting a new set soon and seeing how that goes.

We have so many threads on tires, you should look into those and see what we have discussed already.

if you want good dry and good wet, you want the good year tripple tread. hands down.

Nitto Neo-Gens.

Nothing better. I use them ALL YEAR here in Colorado. So that goes between 3 feet of snow to flooding rains to dirt roads to dry pavement. Never ever had an issue, and my car is lowered also.

I've got some Pirelli Performance winter tires. They're okay in the snow (I've gotten stuck a few times with them, mostly special circumstances like driving on a groomed snow run), and okay on wet/dry, but a dedicated snow tire would be better in the snow, and a dedicated sumer tire would be better in the summer. :p

I had Kumho KH-11's, a really good Grand Touring summer tire. They got awesome grip in the summer, and while the tread was still good, actually got surprisingly good traction in snow. After that tread started wearing down, they were horrible in the snow which resulted in some close calls on Mt. Ashland.

You mentioned Oregon, where are you in the state?
