Security System

I have recently aquired a 1997 legacy outback. It has a factory security system. It does not have an owner's manual.
How do I put the security system in valet mode. Thanks for your help.

unless they change it in 1998 you need to press the red light button, next to the fog switch, and it should be flashing. now it should be in valet mode
