Put together bilstein struts, tein springs with kyb top mounts. The rears are fine, its just the fronts I'm worried about. There's the spring mount that has a small washer above it and then there's the mount above that. The washer is sitting on the bearing and the top mount spins freely, BUT the strut mount also wobbles a tiny bit (like a half a mm). Seems to me like the bearing that has been pressed in, and is under loads of stress everyday it's on the car should be a little more sturdy. These strut mounts are brand new in box from KYB.

SO, is this little bit of wobble in the bearing normal? This is my first strut build so I have no idea.

Yeah, talked to a few of my subaru friends around here and they said that ALL of those mounts they have dealt with moved just a tiny bit. It just seemed mine moved a little more than usual.

Been driving on them for a few months now and there's nothing wrong with them.

Just an update here, I took these front kyb strut mounts off and replaced them with the stock ones I had. Got way too frustrated with these...

I've been switching out springs more than underwear lately and then the, idk what you call em, the studs? The things that connect the mount to the car body, then thread the nut on, those 3 things. They started falling out!! On both of them. I guess they're just pressed in, very poorly. Used a temporary weld fix on them so they wouldn't fall out when we're trying to get the struts back on the car, until we switched them out.

These also still wobble a bit. The stock OEM ones DO NOT wobble at all. Not satisfied with the quality at all. Hopefully I just got a bad set.

On a happier note the rear kyb strut mounts are great!

nasty.

I would think it's a bad set as well.
