Hi,
I am new to this forum.
A month ago I brought a 2001 Legacy B4.
I am looking at quietly building an EJ25 for track and street use.
I would like some help and information on a good setup for these engines.
I have money but not bucket loads of it so I want to make a decent and quick car but nothing crazy.
Anyway I hope you can help!
Thanks

Welcome. I have a motor that is probably similar to what you are looking to do.

What kind of budget are you looking at?
This summer, I'm planning to get a stock turbo manifold/UP/turbo/DP for pretty cheap, and then using MegaSquirt for engine management.
I'm planning on ~$1000 for that, plus I need to track down a 5 Speed.
If it's your daily, don't mod it. That's a nightmare.

Heh. Well, I have a friend with a modded GTP as his only car, he's eaten a cam and blown up a piston, putting his car down for 2-3 months each time.
My Wagon is my Daily, but I have the S30 and the Z31, so I have a fall back :)
I'm just saying, it would suck to be strapped on cash and throw a rod/break a tranny whatever on your only car and be SOL as far as transportation.

Yeah but these cars get more complicated as they get newer.
The 2001 B4, is that still a turbo model or naturally aspirated?

2001 b4 twin turbo.
I have a budget of around 5000. With the blocks in New Zealand Costing $1250 upwards that leaves me with around 4k to spend on the rest of the engine.
single turbo conversion!^
