Electrical Issues After Towing A Trailer

Recently I hooked a trailer up to my 97 Legacy Outback wagon. I bought the cars two months ago and have been without any electrical problems. The car came with a special harness for the trailer that plugged into the cars harness. While driving with the trailer I noted that the CD player would not work and the dome light would not work either. When I unplugged the trailer the radio reset and I have yet been able to get the CD player or dome light to work again. And now when I turn the car off and back on each time it resets the radio/clock. Any suggestions on what might be wrong? I have disconnected the battery to see if it needs to reset with no success. I will take the trailer harness out and make sure that it is working correctly as well.

Seems like there is a faulty connection at the battery. Or that the memory wire is damaged.

Any ideas why my cd player and dome light do not work after unplugging the trailer. It may be important to note that the cd player is a seperate unit from the radio. The radio is still working.

Does the light work now?
The CD/Radio/Clock might be a powercut on the memory, just like if you disconnect the positive or negative battery terminal.
Check the fuses and the hitch-harness.

The CD player and Dome light still do not work. Everything else seems to be working. I have pulled the trailer harness out and it does not have a fuse on it.

Check all the vehicle fuses.

Thanks. I had time to do some more investigating this weekend. I had a blow fuse which seems to have corrected the problem. And a short in one of the trailer lights as well that caused the problem.
