I've had a misfire in Cyl. 1 for a while now since I got my car back from my mechanic and did a compression test today.
Cyl. 1- 125psi
Cyl. 2- 205psi
Cyl. 3- 200psi
Cyl. 4- 195psi
And now I've been told its either my piston ring going out or my block ring on that cylinder.
So what I'm asking here is any ideas of what I should do (i.e. what kind of block I could put in with my EJ25D heads or go with the same engine block etc.), or what kind of pistons I could put in since I'll be in there anyhow to maybe mess with compression a bit. Or any other mechanical ideas that could be causing my low comp. and misfire in that cylinder.
I had the headgaskets changed about 2k mi ago and a 3 angle valve job done along with new cats and o2 sensors. I still lose coolant very very slowly but enough to make my car heat up, but not OVERheat to the top top of the gauge, just the 3/4 part (a little over the temp. symbol). I'm thinking that the misfire and coolant drops are related.
Any ideas would help. :smt023
