All I could find was the same thing. Next time it would be best to buy a wiring cluster off of ebay and then just attaching it to your stock plug in and then just wire the stereo to the harness. Much Much easier

Thank you for that advise but I did look and there is no pre-configured plug. also called my local stereo shop that carries Alpine to see if there was a stock to alpine converter plug. He suggested crutchfield[dot]com maybe. But again no luck. I did learn some cool things there about my new deck and its options. I am installing an Alpine IDA-X200 digital media player. Plays MP3s and WMA's straight of my 16 gig USB thumb drive. Also in depth iPod controls XM or Sirius ready. And HD radio ready. I am going to order the HD unit as soon as I get the darn thing running. Its funny though. No CD drive  lol

Heres one on ebay. Pretty darn cheap to. Its the exact same as I used for my legacy.

Its great cause you just plug it into the stock harness, then just match the colored wires with the wire coming out of the back of your head unit.

Its a new era in technology! Soon CD's will be extinct just like the cassette and USB drives, or minidisc will take over!!

Thats cool and thank you. I fear I will still have the color code issue. Does it come with a diagram?

Its literally as simple as this.

Rewire your old harness in, the one that plugs into your old stock stereo. Then buy that harness and plug it into the end going to your car. Out of the opposite end will be a bunch of coloured wires.

Once you have your new stereo it will have a harness coming out of the back of it with a bunch of coloured wires as well.
The colours from your new harness will be the exact same as the ones on your new stereo. You just have to match the colours together and your done.

Example:
Blue to blue
red to red
white to white
etc...
and your done!

If you don't need to use the speaker wires (i.e. using an external amp) then just use a multimeter to find your power sources and your ground and be done with it. That's what I did, it was faster than searching for a diagram.

I ordered the plug off ebay tomorrow I will rewire in the plug I cut out. I do need to use the original wires for not as I am not replacing the speakers yet. Thank you.

not entirely true...some companies like to change wires around but the harnesses do come with diagrams and if you lose that then the wires are labelled and all stereos have diagrams stickered onto them and have them in their manuals

example, vr3 stereos mix up their wires
