Usually when the key is in the ignition of my 1990 Legacy wagon it makes a noise to remind me to take it out. This recently stopped working. This is a major problem for me. I have driven the car twice since and both times I locked the keys in the car. All fuses are intact. Is there a speaker or something somewhere that may be blown? Where is the wiring for this system? Any other possibilities?
Thanks

in the steering colum there is alittle chim that makes the noise you want. i disconnected mine so i ddint have to deal with it. get a hide-a-key and use that for when you lock the keys in the car.

Yeah I am taking my dad's key (great excuse to keep him from using my car ha). Hopefully the little thing is just disconnected in mine.

Usually if you wiggle the key around it will start back up again. It might mean that something is loose inside the steering column. Mine is that way and I actually prefer it. Just be smart and make sure you have your keys before you lock the car!

i had the same problem. so put a bunch of gorilla glue on the key and stuck it in the ignition and then i smashed all the windows in my car so i can always get in my car and start it.
