Alright, so here are the details, pictures and another soundclip video.

Alright, the details, 2.25" piping from the catalytic converters back (catback). I had the pipes crush bent at midas for $120 (they told me afterwards they undercharged me for the amount of hours, but if they quote a price, they stick to it  ). The muffler is an OBX MV1015. I went with it because it is a close to stock look with a slash cut tip. The rolled lip made it look a little more finished, etc... There is no resonator.

There has been alot of talk about OBX products. Alot of heresay, naysay, and what'd he say? So, I took up close pictures of the welds and the muffler before install. Alot of people say the products are horribly put together and overall junk because this friend or that friend, or the korean philosopher Sum Gui said this about them. People who have purchsed their mufflers and some headers are pleased with the quality.

I am in the pleased category. The welds looked strong, not the prettiest, no, but they aren't exactly visiable. The rest of the chrome looked nice with only two scratches on the top of the muffler case. But for $60, I felt I got my money's worth.

So, total cost of the exhaust was ($127 + $62) $189. It was quite loud at first but its quietting down, (to my thanks). Quieter in the cab than I expected, especially since its a wagon. Quite a bit of burble/backfire when coming off the throttle, which I imagine is a characteristic of glass pack exhausts. I have something tapping ever so slightly (either the bolt right above the tip, or a hanger), but that is only present when the car is idling a little rough.

My thoughts? Well, its not loud one bit at cruising speed (+), it seems to be the same amount of torque/power in the low end, or a possible loss (-), however, third gear has a lot more pull (+). The intake doesn't seem anywhere near as loud, it makes no change in the exhaust note (-). Oh, and a cop reared his head up and pointed his radar gun at me instantly as I started to accelerate from a stop sign... so there's unwanted attention now (-).

Like it, love it, hate it, neutral??? I like it!

not usually a big fan of universal mufflers, especially glasspacks. But I must admit, I likey :-D I absolutely hate the straight-through glasspack (soup can, cannon barrel tip) mufflers :smt019

Sounds nice PWT, especially for the price

sounds great. But I'd be up for something with a little more performance gain ;)

holy crap...I paid almost $70 just for the tip on my Borla muffler, and to me, the OBX muffler sounds about the same. For 60, you can't go wrong...as long as it doesn't rust.

get it ceramic coated if you're worried about rust.

I just looked...2.5" for the muffler inlet...not the best for N/A.

Yeah it was a 2.5" inlet, so it is adapted from 2.25 to 2.5" right before the muffler, but I don't imagine having it 2.5" right at the exit will be a problem, especially since even if you had a 2.25" inlet, it lets into a 5" chamber, sometimes even larger.

just wondering... you're not concerned about the heat/crap from the exhaust mucking up your bumper?

Sounds pretty good for a "cheapy". Try to buy Marks high flow cat and get some headers.

60 bucks for a muffler is a good deal, so the only thing the resonator does is reduce cabin noise?

the resonator doesn't really do much except smooth the tone down a little, if anything it makes it deeper.

Very true. Here is my exhaust with a 2.5" header back with a high-flow cat and a 2 baffle muffler. Notice the buzzing

Here is my car again after installing a 12 inch long 2 1/2" all the way through resonator chamber. There is still a little bit of a buzz but not as bad. Also the resonator was un-packed so as I drive more with it and that nasty exhaust crap gets in it, the buzz goes away more and more.
