Transmission Mount

Hello, all.

I just bought a 1998 Legacy L Wagon with the 2.2L. The previous owner was told that the transmission mount needed replaced. The symptoms I'm having are when either in reverse, or when letting off the throttle at highway speeds, there is a loud thunking noise coming from under the dash, and the shifter moves a bit in place. If this is the transmission mount, is this the correct one:

I haven't been able to find one listed for the 1998, but this same part number is listed for almost all year Imprezas and the 2000 Legacy, so it seems to maybe be universal?

that looks to be the one you need.

double check by using the rockauto.com catolog, its pretty good.

Thats one major issue I've had. None of the sites (Rock Auto, AutoZone, Checker Auto, Napa, etc) list a Transmission Mount for the MT5. They all list the Auto Transmission Mount for my year, but I can't find ANYONE who shows one for my year with a MT...

just get the group n mount, its a good upgrade from stock anyway. (stiffer/more rubber)

I'm all about getting the better mount, I just want to make sure that it is the correct one for my 1998 Legacy. I take it that it is by the response. Thanks!

yes, that bolts up to every subaru 5 speed.... they keep it simple like that...
