i had a bulb go out not even a year after i replaced both of them. i do run my lights on when ever i am driving (safety and force of habit for me.) is it more common on the subarus for the bulbs to burn out more quickly? my moms astro van had the original headlight bulbs for over 8 years before i switched them because they were'nt working properly (not as bright) and that has the headlight DRLs. i have one of the old bulbs in the car that still works that i might put in for now. just for an fyi, i used Sylvania silverstar bulbs.

i dont think so but silver stars burn out more quickly because they run hotter due to the blue coating on the bulb, the regular sylvania are the best "common" bulb you can get for your money and you get more usable light out of them

running the headlights in daytime even as a safe measure will burn em out quick
