I know on my 01 LGT 2.5L looking at to the exhaust i have my Borla header going into the stock 2 Cats and then it connects to a another looking "Cat" but droped down the exhaust and looks like a Glasspack and then it goes into the stock resinator then back to my Borla muffler.

Should i have a shop cut the 3rd "Cat/Glasspack" out and install a 12" straight section replacing that Cat/GlPack? What sound difference would i be looking at?

I know someone has to have done this before... I seen the aftermarket midpipe that is just straight threw with nothing and people install a res. to not make it as raspy. Thoughts on this?

...you lost me after "2 stock cats"

but as for the resonator, i had the midpipe w/o one and it definatley had a nasty rasp in the mid to higher rpms, some people can live with that but i dont prefer it at all..

so i put an 18" resonator in the midpipe and now all i hear is rumble :)

lol yeah... i have 2 regular cats... then the midpipe section has another looking cat then goes about 15" into a Resonator....

Exactly like A i have now but want like C... Huge difference in Sound?

The "3rd cat" isn't a cat. Its a muffler/resonator. Removing it will make the exhaust a little louder and more harsh sounding.

louder, yes..

ouch1011, im not sure what you mean by more harsh, but it should bring some rumble out, theres still a resonator in there so i highly doubt youll get any rasp

I think am gonna go for it, shop charge $40 to do it with 2.25" pipe since am stayin NA. And Answer I'm looking for is a little more rumble... Raspy an not worried about cause am stock cats and do have that stock resonator still on there. I never herd a Borla Catback sound raspy anyways.
