This can has changed so many times since it was purchased now about 4 years ago I could not count. I have divorced my wife that the car was originally designed for. The car is with me back in PA with my son and I want the car to have no ties to the old designs so I am starting over from scratch.

The goal of the car is the following.
1. Drop a build Tribeca 3.6L in. This engine is already ordered and should be here within the next week or two.
2. Completely gut the cars interior and weld in rollcage. The car is gutted for the most part and I am now removing all of the airbag harness.
3. Converting the car to RWD only. Still have not decided to build a strong Subaru tranny or convert to T56. I have already found a company that can make the proper bellhousing to mate to the 3.6L.
4. All metal widebody. This will include the front and rear fenders. Nothing fancy more functional.
5. 17x10" minimum width wheels, leaning towards 17x12 from SSR at this point.
6. Most important to me is the pink paint job will disappear and never return. Leaning towards a flat black with a little Lambo Orange which goes with the cars sponsors colors. Here are a few pics of the vehicle.

The following parts are already ordered and on the way.
1. 3.6L longblock
2. Team Orange steering wheel from Japan
3. Ksport quickrelease hub.
4. Ksport Hydraulic handbrake with SS line kit.

This will be a slow build since I am working on finishing my website and am a single father. But I am not in a hurry and the car will be done right and be crazy as hell.

i've followed your builds/rebuilds over the last couple years and you never dissappoint! always something different! lol Sorry to hear about the divorce, but welcome back to PA, and since your only in hershey, hopefully we'll cross paths at some meets!

^ Thanks, but I am more then happy with the divorce :). I filed for it and have full custody of my son. Now I hope in the next couple of years to get my step-daughter back and then everything will be perfect in life. The car will be crazy when it is done, but it will take alot of time since all my money went to attorney fees and also to paying to get the website complete. But to me it will be worth it in the end.

Decided today to just go ahead and do a harness and ECU swap while I was at it. I thought it would make inspections a little friendlier. So I now have a complete harness and Tribeca ECU on the way.

Added the Tribeca fuse boxes to the harness and just ordered the service manuals for both cars. Also my Ksport order should be in this week.

Lol keep a cover over it though!

That is a sick tranny! That tranny bolts up no problem or are you going to have to fab an adapter plate? I like the wheels they should look pretty slick with some low profile tires.

When all is said and done this sould prob be around a $40,000 - $50,000.00 build huh?

robsontuning
09-30-2010, 09:31 AM
Yeah I need to get another cover, once I start the actually installations the car will be moved to a more secured area.

The transmission will have to get a custom bellhousing made. That will probably cost me what I paid for the transmission LOL. But the end results will be worth it.

I had $50,000 in it already with the last couple of builts and purchase of the vehicle. Yesterday alone cost me $4200 and that is wholesale :(. But I am taking my time and this car will be insane when done.

httrdd
09-30-2010, 10:11 AM
Are you being sponsored? I am guessing that 4,200 was not for that tranny? Lol. You are buillding something amazing that will feature your car everywhere. Lambo killer, Ferrari killer, and one day Bugatti killer! I really need to see this car when it is done!

Oh and dont forget to update the "what do you do for work thread" cause the money you are dishing out for this is crazy! OK I need to stop drooling on my keyboard.

robsontuning
09-30-2010, 10:25 AM
No the tranny was 1875 to my door and the wheels were the rest. The goal is over 800lbs of torgue to the rear tires

No I am sure there will be nothing simple about fitting it. One nice aspect about the switch is our Boxer motors are all low and wide. So width will not be an issue. It will be length. I do not have the measurements for the dimension difference but I expect the nose will have to be lengthened just a little. But it will all be worth it. The goal of this motor set-up will be minimum 800hp on the back tires.

Sorry for not posting in such a long time. Between work, Gunn Shot and being a single dad; time is short LOL. The Legacy has gone very slow because I have been purchasing the equipment to do the body work. Also the XT6 has had many of its parts ordered this week. I now have the seat mounts custom made for it. I order the Sparco seat, the rest of the Tribeca harness. The stage four clutch came in this past week and the wheels will be here tomorrow. The tires are back ordered until at least next month.

My new welder got here a couple of weeks ago and my hydraulic table should be here next week. Sorry but both projects will take a long time. Like I said time is limited and my son of course comes first :).

What are you going to do about the door gap? There's quite a level drop between the flared fender and the rear door, I'm guessing the same will happen with the front door...

But that's besides the point... nice build! :)

robsontuning
09-03-2012, 10:01 AM
^ Not really sure what you mean. This is just the start and none of the lines are set in stone. Plus I will build onto the back door to match the rear fender flare. Also the front fenders will be a different design and will be a little easier to build the way I want. Of course the fender is moved back from the original position whey I pulled it out the almost 4-5 inches. So that length will have to be made up. That is why I purchased a 4x8 sheet of steel to do the fender work.

ElbryanWolf
09-03-2012, 04:08 PM

This has been a crazy weekend. Started my Saturday finding out that someone in California has made a copy of my business CC. So I started the morning dealing with that. Then got the rest of the materials needed to work on the car. Came home to rain. Then when the rain cleared my internet went out so I spend god knows how long dealing with Comcast about the problem. So Today I finally got to work on the car, and then got delayed by the guy that came and purchased my trailer. So I got very little done.

Got the top piece welded in and my templet made so I can start working on closing up the front. My filler should be here in a couple of days so I taped it up again so I did not have to sand all the primer off.

Well my body filler came in today. We will be short staffed at work tomorrow so I may not get the chance to get my tile and paint thinner. But if I do I will start doing some finish work on the top piece.

Weekend did not end the way I like. Got some time yesterday to start working. Made the template for the door trim that I was replacing. Cut my new piece pulled out my welder and started to us it only to run out of wire after about 5 spots :(. A friend borrowed my welder and my mistake for not checking my roll. So I order more and will have it this Wednesday. I also tested the filler and it works as I expected.

Got a little free time today and finish welding in the replacement for the body side molding. Threw a coating of filler over it for the night since I am expecting possible rain. Hope to have nice weather tomorrow and get the fender closed up.

Not much progress spent my evenings this past week doing school stuff and cub scout stuff with my son. Ran two 220 lines to my garage so now I can use my big air compressor and also my tig welder and plasma. Worked on two different designs for how to bring the body back in on the door and also working on the finish work of the fender.

LOL.... You car with that wide body and those wheels looks like it has doughnuts! :smt005

I havent read this since you did the wide body mods, this is crazy cool! Like the finial line on the QT, makes it look more clean.

Did you ever get the motor in? Still sticking with the Viper Motor/Trans right?

Been a pretty busy weekend and fighting with the scattered storms. I removed the rear exterior door handle and just had time to weld in the plate when it started to rain so it looks like crap. I did not have a chance to grind down the welds; I barely had time to hit it with primer.

Also Dead91silvia I still have the Viper tranny and have a deal with a viper shop for the motor, but some friends of mine really want to see the 3.6 built up and super charged in it. Just not really sure at this point. I think in the final scheme of things it will end up with the Viper twin turbo setup.

Honestly, the only one I like is the first one, but the line was off a bit. If you has the top line coming off of the door body line, then it would look more natural.

3rd one is ok, but kinda looks like a new Legacy, when the lines just dont fit the car. But that just me...

Had a little time today before the rain. So I cut and bent the piece I wanted for the door. Got it welded in place just before it started to sprinkle so I quickly did as much grinding as possible and primed it. So excuse the images, it is not finished at all. Did not have time to make to top piece or the bottom piece. Also it is not trimmed for the door and not cut level across the bottom.
