I mentioned this in my the what have you done to your car today thread, but figured I'd throw up a photo and see how you all like it. I modded the Hvac and radio, moved them down closer to the counsel then installed a 3 pod gauge holder where the hvac was. I am not happy with the holder, but it only temporary until I fiber glass in some abs plastic and make my own, but wanna get a feel for having the gauges there. Also need to find another bezel so that I can do this and not have down time with the car.
Well here is the photo, let the comments flow.

well, I'm gonna throw this out there. there was a LOT of PRECISE cutting involved in getting the HVAC to sit properly in mine atleast, and its not technically attached to anything, just jammed into place (doesnt move one bit, even sliding the heat, but not technically attached either)
On a scale of 1 to 10, this would be a solid 7-8 in my opinion, but well worth it when its done. Puttin the gauges up there is super easy afterwards!

You have to cut a lot of stuff behind the dash for this to work. I modified some radio brackets so that it wedged tightly in between them, and then I used 3M double sided tape on the bottom.

I cut the crap out of the metal side brackets from the radio- kind of a stair pattern.
If I ever take it apart (hopefully never) I will take some pics with measurements for you guys, but honestly, its just alot of measure/cut/measure/cut to make it fit great.

I was in the middle of doing this project but abandoned pretty quicky. I didn't like the idea of cutting up so much stuff in the dash. I went as far as fitting the hvac in the radio bezel. I was down a HVAC control and radio trim when I stopped. It's an awesome mod to do if done properly and clean.... I don't have the patience :-(

Here's what NASIOC member morrocco88 did. I think it is incredibly clean.

well idk what you guys are saying about cutting stuff in the dash. There is a flimsy metal bracket and if you just tug on it it bends and you can squeeze the hvac down. used a dremal to trim around the lower bezel, and didn't have to really mod much. The hvac is just squeezed tighly into the radio brackets. All said and done this was about ~2 hours including the cutting of the bezel. Then again I swapped my car and had the dash entirely out before, and I'm pretty sure I broke some shit in the radio housing area moving it around.
Check out the what have you done to your car today, I got some more porn from this weekend
