How are things going room?
I will first mention I have a 99 model Legacy. I have been searching, but I haven’t found an answer on this one if it becomes an option. The subject would be on the cars headlights. I believe the changing of the headlights can be a luxury, but knowing your options can be good to know as well. When I would be driving my Legacy at night, I noticed you can get the top of the line headlight lamps, but whenever you put your high beams on, the enhancement of the lighting isn’t by much. I have witnessed The JDM lights, can be an option on function. But wondering if the lighting is legal or not, can be a troublesome thought. On buying I might have to check what state, and what part from either headlights to fog-lights. Besides the JDM lightings when it comes to the cosmetics I found the 2000 millennium model Legacy headlights to still be appealing. I have witnessed the car has been somewhat remodeled from its older design. (wider, more aerodynamic, heavier etc.) From that thought I have an understanding, that if one wants to modernize or upgrade the cars features, the list of these can come to mind. (possible extra wiring, bumper or bumper trimmings, new hood, new side fenders, paint etc.)

Any help on this subject would be appreciated

your philosophically worded storybook novel confused me halfway through and im not really sure if this was a question or a statement...

2nd gens in the US ran from 95-99, JDM 2nd gen models ran from 93-98.. i say this because of your mentioning MY2000 lights

nothing is impossible so if you want to swap front clips to a MY99+ it'll take a lot of work.. or you can start an impreza wide-body front clip and never finish :smt002

as for the legality of JDM projectors, i guess technically they aren't legal in the US because they aren't DOT approved, but i haven't heard of anyone getting in any serious trouble from using them..

members here have swapped out the cutoffs to accommodate the LHDing, others have aimed them as far right as possible, some have done an entire projector retrofit, but ask anyone who's using them and they'll admit its one of the best mods to your car

Hows it going?

I appreciated the responses earlier. From what I was wondering, is if anyone has done the headlight swap.
From what I read in a forum, I notice it's evident the design can be a bit different. The width of the hood (57 inches) could possibly be the same size 99-2000, but on length I am not sure about the measurements.

concerning between the 99 and 2000 year models, What I have wondered about is the wiring differences between those two cars. I have wondered if its 3 electrical plugs to make each lamp of 2000 model lights to function, and if the 99 model plugs have the same design on its plugs as well. I would be interested in trying to see a view of the lamps at a part store, it might be inconvenient since doing business more than likely would be in their interest. I will be hopeful to discover what my options could be concerning the car cosmetic options.

Any more advice would be appreciated
Thanks Again

You're asking whether these lights:

fit on this car?

Yes the top 2 head lamps.
Also the bumper, side fenders, & hood seem to need a change if it can be done.
Besides not knowing about the wiring designs between the two , I was wondering if a core support swap is needed as well.
Because whenever you speak to WRX owners, they would say that's a change needed if they wanted to change the bug-eye lamp design to the newer car year model design.
Thanks for the pic postings btw.

You might as well try and swap the hood, because you will ave to cut your stock hood.
