I know on my Focus ZX3 I was able to swap out the stock MAFS with an upgraded unit from a company that used a Mustang housing & a modified Mustang MAFS.
I didn't know if you can swap a 2.5GT unit over to a WRX to compensate for better A/F mixture when using an aftermarket intake.

Nah, not really.
The MAF will measure however much air flows through it. As long as the MAF is the same size, it will read the air, aftermarket intake or not.
If you want a larger maf, I don't know of an existing one.
Good to see you on SL-i Jason!

WRX and newer legacies use MAP anyways.
I'm 99% sure on that.

That 1% will get ya then.
The WRX has a MAF. The only Subies to get MAP was the 2000 to 2002 Impreza (I believe). Then they went back to MAF.
All pre-2000 cars are MAF controlled. I don't believe there has been a Legacy that was controlled using a MAP system.

00-04 cars were. I kinda figured WRXs were also, since (as you mentioned) some Imprezas had the MAP system.

Not the boosted Legacies. Every model (JDM) WRX, Legacy and Forester turbo that I've seen has always been MAF'd.

Would a WRX mass air flow housing work w/ my stock sensor?
The aftermarket one I had on my Focus was recalibrated for the larger throttle body & more air flow to be read by the computer so it would adjust fuel level correctly.
Good to see you on SL-i Jason!
Thanks Phil! I really like the feel of this forum. Everyone is very helpful & kind compared to being on the "other" Subaru forums. I'm glad I was informed about this place! I hope to be helpful to everyone else with some of my past learning experience on modding cars (including your Legacy! )
