Can anyone help. I have a 1996 jap import twin turbo legacy automatic the gear box packed in TZ102YBABA-CF, and was replaced with TZ102YBAAA-C5 out another twin turbo legacy. Am told the diff ratio for both is the same but the rear wheels are trying to spin faster than the front now and would like to find out the ratio of the box that has been fitted. Any ideas ?

All JDM Auto Legacies had 4.44 ratios
How do you know they;re trying to turn faster??
to you have binding in the transmission? if so this is usually an issue with the TCU and solenoids that control the torque split between front and rear

in a straight line the car drives fine when you put the steering full lock thas when you notice/hear the difference. The rear wheels spin faster and it binds a bit and slows the car to a stop. so its parked up the now till the problem is solved.

it's a solenoid/ TCU issue.
there's a good procedure here on the site for flushing the box out and giving it new oil and some additive
search for "binding" in the tranny section
if it were the diff it would be trying to bind in a straight line and burning out your centre diff

^ I'd have to agree, because if your ratio were different you wouldn't be able to drive much at all.

The transmission in my Leggy is a TZ102YBAAA-C5 and I am looking for a replacement. Was yours a straight 'plug 'n play' swap? I don't want to have to worry about wiring when I do my swap.

This is not correct. Please see this thread: viewtopic.php?f=70&t=16667 (http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=16667)

Hi i tried changing the diff oils and the trans. fluid but no change. ive also had the car off the ground to check if both front and back are turning at the same time which both seem to be.
But still no change any other thoughts ?

As previously mentioned, the duty solenoids need replacing. Both the transmissions have a final ratio of 4.444.
